Dimetrodon

Dimetrodon means "two-sized tooth"
He was a reptile, not a dinosaur
Dimetrodon was up to 10 feet long.
He was a 4-legged meat eater.
Dimetrodon had ong bones that stuck up from its back,
attached to these bones was a piece of skin that
stood 3 feet off of Dimetrodon's back.
It looked like a sail on a sailboat.
Rival males often used this sail to threaten each other.
But scientists believe that the main use for the sail
was to regulate Dimetrodon's body temperature.
Also because the sail on their was very vulnerable to damage,
Dimetrodon did very little actual fighting.
